Note:
Th publication data banks of the MBI contain all publications, lectures and other relevant information in the very convenient EndNote environement (very helpfull e.g. for writing and citing publications). Since Dezember 2009 we use EndNote-X2 for working with these data. You find the data banks as mbi-a-X2.enl, mbi-b-X2.enl, mbi-c-X2.enl and mbi-z-X2.enl and mbi-all-X2.enl in the NFS directory \info\Bibliography\endnote\ ...
After the evaluation process in Sep. 2012 we will change the Version from X2 to X5.
EndNote-X5 can now be used on the application servers (Programs --> EndNote) or it can be installed on a pc or laptop. Employees of the MBI can install EndNote on personal computers, including laptops and home computers. You will find the installation package for all Windows versions (zip file) with instructions on the network share \\sw\swfs or via the NFS auto mount \\$auto_sw\windows, then navigate to \Software\Win_for_XP_and_WIN7_platforms\ Literaturrecherche
In order to read the EndNote Databanks of the MBI correctly, the EndNote "preferences" have to be modified to fit the MBI Reference types.
To achieve that, you have to to import these reference types into your system yourself when using EndNoteX2 for the first time as well as from time to time when the system has been modified to new standards. The procedure is very simple:
- Download from here the file ReferenceTypes-X2.xml. Do this by right clicking on the link and on "save link as" choose a place where you can easily locate this file again (e.g. on your desktop).
- Open EndNote-X2 (if it is not already open). Choose the menue point "Edit" and open "Preferences". There choose "Reference Types" and click on the button "Import". In the window which opens find now the file Referencetype-X2.xml (as saved in step 1) and open it.
Done. You can now use the correct reference type fields in your installation of EndNote-X2.
For users of the application servers (via Citrix): You also have to follow the procedure given here once when using EndNote-X2 for the first time.

Detailed instructions on procedures and rules for submitting data into the EndNote databank (only for the secretaries) are found on the German pages.
